The World Cup is still a little over a month away, but the anticipation is mounting in Bethlehem!
The festival will be held at the SteelStacks June 12-16 and again from June 19-22.
Games will be shown on a huge LED screen and there will be soccer clinics, vendors and live music.
It's one of a select few outdoor viewing events in the country officially approved by the FIFA, including 26 World Cup Brazil games, inlcuding two USA games.
“The World Cup™ is the most watched sporting event in the world, inspiring passion in soccer fans from every corner of the globe,” says Curt Mosel, vice president of marketing and public relations for ArtsQuest, the nonprofit arts organization hosting the festival at SteelStacks.
“Our goal with this SoccerFest and viewing party is to bring that international excitement and energy to the Lehigh Valley, while also engaging the region’s youth players, creating an atmosphere for thousands to come together for a celebration of the world’s game in a very unique setting," Mosel added.
The Philadelphia Union will present a youth clinic on June 14. Other activites include an interactive Kids' Fun Zone featuring soccer skills activities, inflatables and challenges.
The second weekend coincides with ¡Sabor!, the popular free Latin festival at SteelStacks.
Throughout both weekends of the SoccerFest, guests are encouraged to donate new and gently used soccer equipment to the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Passback® Program, which will distribute the equipment to children in underserved communities throughout the nation.
