ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Maybe you've passed through downtown Allentown recently and gotten a look at all the new construction near the hockey arena site.

To see it like never before, I climbed to the top of a 240-foot tower crane.

The building is Two City Center, soon to be home of National Penn Bank. It's also a key cog in the renaissance of downtown.

With the help of site supervisor Andrew Miller, I ascended through the heart of the building.

Soon, I made my summit, 12 stories above Hamilton, 40 feet above the top of the arena sight.

The view was pretty spectacular, a sight crane operator Billy Montegari said he never takes for granted.

"Favorite view is the sun in the morning coming up," he said.

But Miller said work is weather-reliant. Winds above 40 miles per hour shut down the rotating crane.
