Woman attacked officer while being booked for DUI, police say

EASTON, Pa. -

A woman had to be forcibly restrained after she attacked a police officer who was booking her for DUI, officials said.

Allison M. West kicked, slapped and tried to punch Pen Argyl police officer Stacy Smith at the Northampton County DUI Center, 105 South Union St., Easton, around 10 p.m. Friday, officials said.

West also attacked an officer who was working as a processor at the center, officials said.

West, 19, of 265 Woodside Ave., Nazareth, Northampton Co., was arraigned on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $5,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Nov. 27.
