Wintry weather wreaking havoc on highways

A fatal crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike is among numerous accidents being reported in the southern end of our coverage area.
Around 12:30 p.m., a fatal crash involving dozens of vehicles was reported on the PA Turnpike at mile marker 301 in Morgantown, Chester County.
One person was killed in that wreck, which involved at least 56 vehicles on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The westbound side of the Turnpike between Morgantown and Downingtwn is closed.
Police say the damage to the vehicles was done by fender-benders or spin-out-typ accidents.
Several tractor-trailers and at least one boat were damaged.
Just before that, around 12:40 p.m., there was another major accident involving a vehicle rollover on Route 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County.
Crews at the scene say an SUV lost control and rolled down an embankment, trapping two people. Both people have been removed from the vehicle and are being transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown. Route 422 eastbound remains closed in that area.
Just before 1:30 p.m., a wreck with entrapment was reported on I-176 in Robeson Township, Berks County.
Around 1:50 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with entrapment and injuries was reported on Route 222 in Wyomissing Borough at the Penn Avenue exit.
