Wilson WL boys clinch Berks I; Mifflin girls top Boone

The Bulldogs topped Exeter, clinching the Berks I title on Tuesday. On the girls side, Governor Mifflin bolstered its playoff resume with a victory over Daniel Boone.

BERKS COUNTY -

The Wilson West Lawn boys basketball team clinched the Berks I title on Tuesday with a 48-35 victory at Exeter. On the girls side, Governor Mifflin defeated Daniel Boone to add to its playoff resume.

In Reiffton, Jaylin Calloway poured in a game-high 24 points to lead Wilson (8-0, 17-2) to the 13-pooint victory over the Eagles (4-4, 11-7).

Travaun Coad added another 12 points for the Bulldogs, who remained perfect in league play.

Luis Arndt paced the Eagles with 18 points. Michal Menet added another 12 for Exeter.

Before the game, the Exeter Athletic Department was presented with a $6,000 check from Moe's, which had a grand opening a few weeks ago in Reiffton. All proceeds from that event went to Exeter Athletics.

In Shillington, Governor Mifflin (5-3, 11-8) defeated Daniel Boone (0-8, 4-16) in a Berks I girls game, 49-35, the final.

Melissa Martin led the Mustangs with 12 points, who are trying to solidify a spot in the District III tournament.

The Blazers' Taylor Keys led all scorers with 13 points.
