WHITEHALL, Pa. -

The Whitehall Township Commissioners held a brief workshop on Monday night to discuss several proposed ordinances to be passed within the Township.

The Commissioners discussed approving an ordinance authorizing Whitehall Township Mayor Edward Hozza Jr., to enter into a right-of-way grant with UGI Utilities, Inc.

The grant will authorize UGI Utilities to convey telecommunications and other electronic or optical transmissions across a strip of land located at 1977 Schadt Avenue.

If the ordinance gets final approval from the Commissioners at their next regularly scheduled meeting, UGI will be responsible for maintaining, operating, extending, replacing, changing the size of and removing any facilities used by the company.

The three other ordinances discussed by the Commissioners at the work session included authorizing Hozza to enter into a license agreement with a township resident, a proposal for street light replacement and enhancement in Peachtree Village, and purchasing road building materials for the Public Works Bureau.

No action was taken at the work session on any proposed ordinances. Any movement on the ordinances will happen at the Commissioners next regularly scheduled meeting on July 8th.
