Officials in New Jersey have upgraded charges against a Hunterdon County man in the violent death of his elderly father.
Fifty-five-year-old Roy Kerr has been indicted on charges of first and second degree manslaughter.
Officials say 75-year-old Earl Kerr was found dead inside his home in Alexandria Township on Dec. 27.
An autopsy determined that he died from blunt force trauma to his face and torso.
Kerr was initially charged with aggravated assault in the case.
He is being held at the Hunterdon County Jail on $100,000 bail.
