Vehicle overturns in Allentown leaving one man dead

A 26-year-old man was killed when his car collided with a flatbed truck in Allentown.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A vehicle overturned during an accident in Allentown, leaving one man dead.

Officials say James Monahan, 26, was pronounced dead at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday at the scene of the accident.

They say Monahan's car was involved in an accident with a Lowe's truck and the truck lost its load.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday on South Fourth Street, near Normandy Street.

South Fourth Street reopened Wednesday evening after hours of closures between Emaus Avenue and Rock Road.

The cause of death is blunt force injuries to the head and chest, and the manner of death has been ruled an accident, according to the county coroner.

There's no word yet on what caused the crash.

The accident is under investigation by the Allentown Police Department.
