Two late afternoon bank robberies in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. -

Police in Montgomery County are investigating two bank robberies which occurred within a 15 minute span on Friday.

Authorities were called to the Harleysville Savings Bank on Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township at about 5:00 p.m. Police on scene said that the FBI had been contacted about the robbery. Officials did not release any further details.

Then, at about 5:12 p.m., State Police were at the Univest Bank on Township Line Road in Skippack Township, investigating a robbery there.

State Police said in that robbery, a man entered the bank, demanded money, and fled the scene.

Police described the man involved in the Univest robbery as a white male, 6' to 6'1" tall, 200 to 210 pounds, wearling a black "Steelers" had, a black cloth over his face,a  gray shirt, brown khaki pants, and brown shoes.

No one appears to have been hurt in either incident.
