Tractor trailer hangs off Route 33 overpass in Northampton County

A tractor trailer nearly ran off an overpass on Route 33 South in Northampton County Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. at the Henry Road overpass in Bushkill Township.
Officials say an Aldi truck crashed into the concrete barrier. The driver says it happened when he was trying to avoid a car that suddenly slowed and cut in front of him, according to police.
Police say the truck traveled about 50 feet while straddling the concrete barrier.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
Traffic on Route 33 South was routed through the Belfast Exit for about three hours while crews removed the truck from the barrier.
Police say the roadway was partially covered with snow when the wreck happened.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the wreck is asked to call State Police in Belfast.
