$100,000 stolen from local soccer club

WHITEHALL,, Pa. -

A Lehigh Co. soccer club is working with police to find out who stole $100,000.

Whitehall Twp. police said they're investigating the theft from the TriBoro Soccer Club, which is based in Whitehall.

Apparently the thefts occurred over a period of about six years.

Police said so far there are no suspects and no arrests.

Tom Lonardo, attorney for the soccer club, told 69News that the club was focusing on making sure the children have equipment and are able to play this year.

Lonardo said a new board president and other board members started in September, and realized in February that some of the club's funds had been misappropriated for six years, possibly longer.

Police said a member of the soccer club brought the matter to the police's attention.
