Weekly Roadwork - Bucks-Montgomery-Chester-Delaware

BUCKS COUNTY
Construction will begin Monday, August 17, to repair and resurface the deteriorated pavement on Interstate 95 south and Route 212 .

PennDOT’s contractor will work weeknights from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM through mid-September to mill and pave over three miles of deteriorated pavement on southbound I-95 between the Route 132 (Street Road) Interchange and the Philadelphia line in Bensalem Township. Southbound I-95 will be reduced to one lane during nighttime construction and motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction zone because slowdowns will occur.

In addition, crews will work from Monday, August 17, through Monday, August 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to mill and pave nearly 15 miles of Route 212 (Hellertown Avenue/Church Road/Quakertown Road/Springtown Road/Durham Road) between Route 313 (Broad Street) and Route 611 (River Road) in Durham, Richland and Springfield townships and Quakertown and Richlandtown boroughs.

The Hilltown Township Water and Sewer Authority will restrict Minsi Trail and Blooming Glen Road in Bucks County for utility construction, May 13 through the end of November. The roads will be restricted weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The work schedule is:
Minsi Trail will be closed and detoured between Blue School Road and Route 113. Motorists will be detoured over Blue School Road, Route 313, and Route 113;
Minsi Trail will be reduced to one lane between Route 113 and Forest Road; and
Blooming Glen Road will be reduced to one lane between Route 113 and Harvest Lane.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

U.S. 422 west will be closed and detoured at the Route 100 Interchange on Tuesday, September 1, and Thursday, September 3, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for the placement of 10 concrete beams on the new bridge being built over the Schuylkill River in West Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today. 

During the overnight operation, U.S. 422 west traffic will be detoured and directed onto Route 100 north. Drivers will then follow Route 100 north to westbound High Street, and take High Street west to U.S. 422 west. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

Travel restrictions are scheduled through next week on Interstate 76 in Montgomery County for tree trimming and sweeping operations.

The work schedule is:

·         Saturday, August 29 from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the right lane will be closed on westbound I-76 between the Gladwyne and Conshohocken interchanges in Montgomery County for tree trimming;
·         Monday August, 31 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane and shoulder will be closed on eastbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 and Montgomery Drive interchanges in Philadelphia for tree trimming; and
·         Monday, August 31 through Thursday, September 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the left lane will be closed on eastbound and westbound I-76 between the U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and U.S. 202 interchanges in Montgomery County for sweeping.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-76 through the work areas because backups will occur. The tree trimming and sweeping operations are weather dependent.

Lane closures are scheduled next week on northbound Interstate 95 in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, for bridge inspections.

The work schedule is:

·         Monday, August 31, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the left lane will be closed on westbound I-76 at the U.S. 202 Interchange in Upper Merion Township; and
·         Monday, August 31, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be closed on the westbound I-76 ramp to southbound U.S. 202 in Upper Merion Township.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel on northbound I-95 and westbound I-76 during the bridge inspections because slowdowns will occur.

Nighttime and daytime lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 422 approaching the Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange in West Norriton, Lower Providence and Upper Providence townships, Montgomery County, for bridge construction and sign structure installations.

U.S. 422 will be reduced from two lanes to one Sunday, August 23, through Thursday, August 27, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM for bridge pier repairs and painting. The overnight restriction also will be in place Sunday, August 30, to Thursday, September 3.

U.S. 422 motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel during construction because slowdowns will occur approaching the Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange.

CHESTER COUNTY

Lane restrictions are scheduled next week on Route 10 (Church Street) in Parkesburg Borough, Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Caln Township and Downingtown Borough, and Route 352 (Sproul Road) in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, starting Monday, August 31, for bridge inspections by Amtrak.

The work schedule is:

·         Monday, August 31, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 10 (Church Street) between Main Street and 1st Avenue from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Traffic will be controlled by flagging;

·         Tuesday, September 1, lane restrictions are scheduled on Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between King Street and Gable Avenue from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Traffic will be controlled by flagging; and

·         Tuesday, September 1, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 352 (Sproul Road) between Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and College Avenue from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Traffic will be controlled by flagging.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these areas. The schedules are dependent on the weather.

Newtown Road will be closed and detoured weekdays between Sugartown Road and Waterloo Road in Easttown Township, Chester County, from Monday, September 7, to Wednesday, September 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for water main installation and road restoration.

During construction, motorists will follow the posted detour of Sugartown Road, Church Road and Waterloo Road. Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time during construction as slowdowns will occur. ________________________________________________________________________
Work on the Knox Covered Bridge is expected to start in September, following an eight-week timeframe for the delivery of the necessary materials.  The Knox Covered Bridge is expected to reopen late this year (2015)
