BUCKS COUNTY
Swamp Road will be closed and detoured between Worthington Mill Road and Route 232 (Second Street Pike) in Wrightstown Township, Bucks County, on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the replacement of a deteriorated drainage pipe

The Hilltown Township Water and Sewer Authority will restrict Minsi Trail and Blooming Glen Road in Bucks County for utility construction beginning tomorrow, May 13, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced. The roads will be restricted weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM through the end of November,
The work schedule is:
Minsi Trail will be closed and detoured between Blue School Road and Route 113. Motorists will be detoured over Blue School Road, Route 313, and Route 113;
Minsi Trail will be reduced to one lane between Route 113 and Forest Road; and
Blooming Glen Road will be reduced to one lane between Route 113 and Harvest Lane.

New traffic patterns are scheduled to start Thursday, July 30, on Route 263 (York Road) between Meetinghouse Road and Ridge Drive in Warwick Township.

PennDOT’s contractor will work Wednesday, July 29, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning to move one lane of southbound and northbound traffic, plus a center turn lane, over to the newly constructed northbound side of Route 263 (York Road).

All traffic on Route 263 (York Road) north of Ridge Drive to Sugar Bottom Road will continue to run on the southbound side of the highway until crews complete rebuilding the northbound side in August.  

In addition, Almshouse Road will be closed and detoured on the west side of its intersection with Route 263 (York Road) beginning Wednesday, July 29, and lasting through mid-August for the reconstruction of the intersection with new concrete pavement. Eastbound Almshouse Road traffic will be detoured over Route 611, Edison Furlong Road and Route 263 (York Road). In coordination with this closure, the contractor will reopen Almshouse Road on the east side of Route 263 (York Road) and westbound Almshouse Road motorists will then be able to reach Route 263 (York road) to make a left or right turn.

The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 76 east between the U.S. 202 and Interstate 476 interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, on Sunday, July 26, through Friday, July 31, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the next morning for bridge joint sealing.
U.S. 422 west will be reduced from two lanes to one between the Route 23 (Valley Forge Road and Route 363 interchanges in Upper Merion and West Norriton townships, Montgomery County, on Thursday, July 30, from 9:00 to 3:00 PM a bridge inspection.

CHESTER COUNTY

Lane closures are scheduled on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Shoen Road and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) in West Whiteland and Uwchlan townships, Chester County, on Sunday night, July 26, and on Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, for road construction.

This information is an update to the PennDOT news release that was issued yesterday (see below) to announce the unexpected closure of the Knox Covered Bridge in Valley Forge National Historical Park due to structural damage resulting from a crash.  PennDOT engineers met on site at the bridge today with the general contractor who was recently awarded the PennDOT contract to rehabilitate three covered bridges in Chester County, including the Knox Covered Bridge.  The contractor will rehabilitate the Knox Covered Bridged and Rapps Dam Covered Bridge simultaneously this year.  Work on the Knox Covered Bridge is expected to start in September, following an eight-week timeframe for the delivery of the necessary materials.  The Knox Covered Bridge is expected to reopen late this year (2015).

DELAWARE COUNTY

Lenni Road will be closed and detoured between New Road and Lundgren Road in Middletown Township, Delaware County from Monday, August 3, to Friday, September 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for a gas main replacement by PECO

Springfield Road between West Madison Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue in Clifton Heights Borough, Delaware County,will be closed for two weeks, beginning Monday, July 20, for trolley track replacement.  Crews will work weekdays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM through the expected opening date of August 3.
During construction, SEPTA will detour Springfield Road through traffic over Baltimore Avenue, Oak Avenue, and Providence Avenue. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
