BUCKS COUNTY

Weekday lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 132 (Street Road) between Willopenn Drive and Route 611 (Easton Road) in Upper Southampton, Warminster and Warrington townships, on Monday through the following Friday (Dec. 8-19) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for resurfacing operations.

Route 132 (Street Road) motorists are advised to use extra care when driving through the work zone and to allow additional time for travel because slowdowns will occur. The operations are dependent on the weather.

Aqua Pennsylvania will close Bristol Road in Bensalem Township and Church Road in Cheltenham Township on Weekdays beginning Oct. 6 for water main installations.

The work schedule is:
· Oct. 6 through Dec. 22 – Bristol Road will be closed and detoured between U.S. Route 1 and Neshaminy Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists will be detoured over Neshaminy Boulevard, Rock Hill Road, and Old Lincoln Highway.
· Oct 6 through Jan. 30, 2015 – Church Road will be closed and detoured between Route 611 (York Road) and Mill Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists will be detoured over Mill Road, New Second Street, Township Line Road, and Route 611 (York Road).
Motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel through the construction zones

A new traffic pattern has been established on U.S. 13 between Bath Road and Green Lane in Bristol Township.  Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to paint new traffic lines, reposition traffic signs and barrels, and reconfigure traffic signals to shift traffic to the northbound and southbound left lanes. This new traffic pattern will be in place until Oct. 2015.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

The right lane closure planned for Sunday (Dec. 21) on eastbound Interstate 76 just east of the Interstate 476 Interchange to Belmont Avenue in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, has been postponed.  No alternate date has been scheduled at this time.

The right lane will be closed on westbound Interstate 76 between the Gladwyne and Conshohocken interchanges in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, Thursday (Dec. 18) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for repairs to a damaged drainage inlet and roadway shoulder.

I-76 West motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area as backups will occur.

Lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) between Shady Lane in Rockledge Borough and Abington Township, and Route 63 (Welsh Road/Philmont Avenue) in Lower Moreland Township, Montgomery County, on Monday through Friday (Dec. 15-19) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for inlet replacement work.

Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) motorists are advised to use extra care when driving through the work zone and to allow additional time for travel because slowdowns will occur.  The operation is dependent on the weather.

The northbound lane of Markley Street traffic will be moved to the center of the street between Roberts Street and Johnson Highway in Norristown Borough, Montgomery County, on Monday afternoon, Dec. 15.

The new traffic pattern, with northbound traffic moving to the center and southbound vehicles on the rebuilt west side of Markley Street, will remain in place until fall 2015 as crews rebuild the east side of the street under PennDOT’s $20.8 million improvement project.

Markley Street carries two-way traffic between Roberts Street and Johnson Highway, but remains one-way southbound south of Roberts Street to Harding Boulevard.

Crews will work through the winter as conditions permit to improve the east side of Markley Street between Harding Boulevard and Johnson Highway. Ongoing work on the east side includes installation of sanitary sewer lines, construction of new curbs, sidewalks and recessed parking slots, total reconstruction of Markley Street, and installation of new traffic signals and decorative street lights.

Motorists may encounter flagger-controlled stoppages and short-term closures of intersecting streets on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and during occasional weekend operations. The Markley Street work area extends from north of Johnson Highway (Swede Road) in East Norriton Township to Elm Street in Norristown Borough.

Traffic will be restricted weekdays on Matsonford Road in Upper Merion and Lower Merion townships for water main replacements.
The work schedule is:

·    Tuesday, Nov. 11 through Friday, Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Matsonford Road will be closed between County Line Road and Old Gulph Road. During this weekday operation, Matsonford Road motorists will be detoured over County Line Road, Upper Gulph Road and Old Gulph Road; and

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these areas. The schedules are dependent on the weather.

Aqua Pennsylvania will close Old Arch Road weekdays between Germantown Pike and Plymouth Road in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County, beginning Monday, Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for water main replacement. The weekday closure will be in effect through April 30, 2015. During this operation, Old Arch Road through traffic will be detoured over Germantown Pike, U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) and Plymouth Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.

CHESTER COUNTY

Due to inclement weather, the shifting of U.S. 202 southbound traffic to the newly built southbound side of the highway between Route 401 and U.S. 30 in Chester County has been postponed to Thursday morning (Dec. 18). Conditions are conducive to painting traffic lines for the new pattern.   

The schedule of operations listed below in the Dec. 12 news release announcing the traffic pattern changes on U.S. 202 will move forward one night due to tonight’s postponement. All restrictions listed for tonight (Dec. 16) will occur Wednesday night (Dec. 17), weather permitting. The only travel restriction on U.S. 202 tonight will be a southbound left lane closure at the southern end of the project near the U.S. 30 Interchange for material deliveries.

Original Schedule:
·    From 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 15) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16), U.S. 202 South will be reduced to one lane between Route 29 and U.S. 30;

·    From 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 15) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16), the Route 401 on-ramp to U.S. 202 South will be closed. The posted detour will take motorists north on U.S. 202 to the Route 29 North/Great Valley exit, then right on Matthews Road, right on Route 29 and left at Swedesford Road to the on-ramp to U.S. 202 South;

·    From 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 15) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16), the U.S. 202 South off-ramp to Route 401 will be closed. The posted detour will take motorists off at the Route 29 North/Great Valley exit, then turn left at Swedesford Road and follow Swedesford Road to Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 17), U.S. 202 North will be reduced to one lane from U.S. 30 to just north of Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 17), U.S. 202 South will be reduced to one lane between Route 29 and U.S. 30;

·    From 8 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 16) to 5 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 17), the Route 401 on-ramp to U.S. 202 South will be closed (Posted Detour: U.S. 202 North to Route 29 North/Great Valley exit, then right on Matthews Road, right on Route 29 and left at Swedesford Road to the on-ramp to U.S. 202 South) and the U.S. 202 South off-ramp to Route 401 will be closed (Posted Detour: Exit at the Route 29 North/Great Valley exit, turn left at Swedesford Road and follow Swedesford Road to Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 17) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 18), U.S. 202 South will be reduced to one lane between Route 29 and U.S. 30;

·    From 8 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 18) to 5 a.m. Friday (Dec. 19), U.S. 202 South will be reduced to one lane between Route 29 and U.S. 30;

·    From 8 p.m. Friday (Dec. 19) to 10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 20), U.S. 202 North and South will be reduced to one lane from U.S. 30 to just north of Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 20) to 10 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 21), U.S. 202 North will be reduced to one lane from U.S. 30 to just north of Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 20) to 10 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 21), the U.S. 202 North off-ramp to Route 401 will be closed. The posted detour will take traffic off at U.S. 30, then right on U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and left at Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 20) to 10 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 21), the Route 401 on-ramp to U.S. 202 North will be closed. The posted detour will take traffic east on Route 401, left at Swedesford Road, right at Route 29 and left at Matthews Road to the on-ramp to U.S. 202 North;

·    From 8 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 20) to 10 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 21), the U.S. 30 East off-ramp to U.S. 202 North will be closed. The posted detour will take traffic off at the Business U.S. 30 exit ramp, then right onto U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and right at the ramp to U.S. 202 North;

·    From 8 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 21) to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 22), U.S. 202 North will be reduced to one lane from U.S. 30 to just north of Route 401;

·    From 8 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 21) to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 22), the U.S. 202 North off-ramp to Route 401 will be closed (Posted Detour: Exit at U.S. 30, turn right on U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and left at Route 401); 

·    From 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 22) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 23), U.S. 202 North will be reduced to one lane from U.S. 30 to just north of Route 401; and

·    From 8 p.m. Monday (Dec. 22) to 5 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 23), the Route 401 on-ramp to U.S. 202 North will be closed (Posted Detour: East on Route 401, left at Swedesford Road, right at Route 29 and left at Matthews Road to the on-ramp to U.S. 202 North).

Southbound Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) will be restricted to a single lane between Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue) and Shoen Road in Uwchlan and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, on Monday through Friday (Dec. 15-19) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road widening.

Drivers are advised to use extra care and allow additional time when driving through the construction zone because slowdowns will occur when either the left or right lane is closed on southbound Route 100 (Pottstown Pike).

The contractor’s schedule is dependent on the weather.

Motorists will face overnight lane closures next week when driving on U.S. 202 between the Chesterbrook and Route 401 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland townships, Chester County, for roadwork.

Weather permitting, lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound U.S. 202 on Monday through Friday (Dec. 15-19) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel and use extra care when driving through the construction zone.

Aqua Pennsylvania is planning weekday closures starting Monday, Nov. 24 on Paoli Pike and Devon Road in Willistown Township for water main replacements.  The closures will be in effect Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Jan. 31, 2015.

The work schedule is:

·    Paoli Pike will be closed between Warren Avenue and Devon Road. During this weekday operation, Paoli Pike motorists will be detoured over Sugartown Road, King Road, Route 352 (Sproul Road) and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue); and

·    Devon Road will be closed between Paoli Pike and Grubb Road. During this weekday operation, Devon Road motorists will be detoured over South Valley Road, U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue), Route 352 (Sproul Road), King Road and Sugartown Road.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these areas. The schedules are dependent on the weather.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) closed the structurally-deficient Burnt Mill Road Bridge over a branch of the Red Clay Creek in Kennett Township due to structural deterioration.
During the bridge closure, Burnt Mill Road will be detoured over Norway Road and Spring Mill Road. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
The structure will remained closed until a project is designateded to either repair or replace the bridge.

The Pennsylvania Water Company will close and detour Route 372 (Valley Road) weekdays between Newport Avenue and Strasburg Road in Sadsbury Township beginning Dec. 1 for sewer installation.
Route 372 (Valley Road) will be closed on Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Dec. 24.
During construction, Route 372 (Valley Road) through traffic will be detoured over Route 82 (Deer Run Road) and Strasburg Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

DELAWARE COUNTY

Aqua Pennsylvania will close Route 320 (Sproul Road) weekdays between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Church Lane in Marple Township beginning Monday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for water main replacement.
The weekday closure will be in effect through Wednesday, Dec 31. During this operation, Route 320 (Sproul Road) through traffic will be detoured over Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Church Lane.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
