Published On: Aug 10 2011 10:55:02 PM EDT

-Raspberry Street – A crane operation will close Raspberry St between Guetter St and Main St on Tuesday, May 19, from 7am-9am.

-William & 5th Streets – A contractor will be replacing a waterline beginning Wednesday, May 20, along 5th Street and will begin in the intersection with William St.  Flaggers will be onsite to direct traffic.

-The City’s sidewalk repair job on Main St is expected to start on Tuesday, March 17, near the intersection with Church Street.  This work will continue through June moving north on Main St on the east side to Broad Street and then south on Main St along the west side.  There will be times when a travel lane will need to be closed as electrical conduit is installed.  Two-way traffic will be maintained, but be aware of potential delays throughout the project.

-Main St & Elizabeth Ave, New St & Elizabeth Ave – The City has hired a contractor to fully upgrade the signals and handicap ramps at both intersections.  The contractor began work in this area on May 18.  Expect to see sidewalk work and temporary lane closures throughout the next few months at these intersections.

-Due to recent inspection results, the High Street Bridge to Hellertown will be closed immediately. Please be aware that due to the prior closing of the Seidersville Road bridge by Northampton County, there will no longer be thru traffic from Ravena Street or High Street. Signs, barricades, etc. have been installed to warn traffic of the closure. The City has been actively pursuing replacement of the High Street Bridge; however, until the replacement, alternate routes shall be taken.
