Lehigh/Northampton Co - Bethlehem Street Closures

-SR378 / Wyandotte Street: PennDOT’s contractor will continue to pave Wyandotte Street at night on Friday and Saturday, October 24-25, from 7pm to 7am.  This work is between 3rd Street and continues into Lower Saucon Township.  During this time, parking will be restricted and lanes will be shifted.  Delays are possible, so please seek alternate routes if traveling through the area at night. Delays are expected so please seek alternate routes if possible.

-Easton Avenue: PennDOT will be milling and overlaying between Washington Ave and Jennings St on Monday, October 27, between 9am and 2pm and will need to restrict lanes with flaggers during this time.

-SR412 on-ramp to I-78:  PennDOT will be conducting rolling closures on SR78 on October 29 and 31 from 2am-5am and will need to close the on-ramp at SR412 at times.  The road blocks will be no longer than 15 minutes.

-Walnut Street: A contractor will need to close Walnut Street on Monday, October 27, between Guetter St and Main St for a crane operation between 9am and 11am.  Access will be maintained to the Sun Inn Court Yard area but no through traffic will be permitted.

-Lynn Ave is closed between SR412 and Spillman for full reconstruction.  All traffic accessing the industrial park will need to utilize Emery Street.  Officers will be onsite to direct traffic at that intersection during the rush hours.

-The County is planning on opening up Macada Road, but will be closing Bridle Path Road between Center Street and Jacksonville Rd immediately after for bridge repairs. Local traffic will be able to access homes in the area, but no through traffic will be allowed to cross the bridge over the Monocacy. A detour using Macada Road will be posted. This road is expected to be closed until the end of October.

-Columbia Street: The contractor at the Charter School site will be closing Columbia Street between Webster St and Polk St beginning Monday, October 27, and will have the road closed through January for construction of the building.  A detour will be in place utilizing 1st Street.  Due to the placement of a large crane and stone on the road, emergency vehicles will not have access through here; however, other accommodations have been made for fire and emergency access at Taylor Street.

-Due to recent inspection results, the High Street Bridge to Hellertown will be closed immediately. Please be aware that due to the prior closing of the Seidersville Road bridge by Northampton County, there will no longer be thru traffic from Ravena Street or High Street. Signs, barricades, etc. have been installed to warn traffic of the closure. The City has been actively pursuing replacement of the High Street Bridge; however, until the replacement, alternate routes shall be taken.
