The Titus power plant in Berks County will be closing earlier than expected.

CUMRU TWP., Pa. -

The Titus power plant in Berks County will be closing earlier than expected.

The power plant in Cumru Township was set to close in April 2015, but officials said the plant will now close on Sept. 1.

The date was changed due to economic reasons, officials said.

There are currently about 58 employees at the plant. Only about five will remain after Sept. 1.
