Teen driver hurt when ejected from car in Monroe Co. crash

CHESTNUTHILL TWP., Pa. -

A Monroe County teen was hurt after his car slid on a patch of ice and hit a tree.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning as 17-year-old Derek Marshall of Effort was driving on Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Twp.

State police said Marshall's car hit a small patch of ice, left the road and hit a tree.

Marshall wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected out of the car through the passenger side window, police said.

He was taken to Pocono Medical Center.

His condition wasn't available.
