HILLTOWN TWP., Pa. -

An 18-year-old driver was killed when her SUV went off the road and hit a culvert in Bucks County on Sunday.

Esthefania Jimenez Velez was driving north on Hilltown Pike, south of Callowhill Road, in Hilltown Township just before 7 a.m. when the SUV went off the right side of the road and hit a culvert of a driveway apron, police said.

The impact caused the vehicle to roll onto the driver's side, then hit a tree with its roof.

Velez, of Quakertown, died at the scene. It took workers more than an hour to extricate her from the vehicle.

Police are still trying to determine the cause of the crash. The inclement weather that hit the region later Sunday was not a factor, officials said.
