Tahir Sutton and Dionte Powell to be tried as adults in gas station robbery, police say

WILSON, Pa. -

Two 17-year-olds will be tried as adults for allegedly holding up a a gas station convenience store in Northampton County two months ago.

Police say Tahir Sutton and Dionte Powell, both of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, robbed the Square One Exxon on Northampton Street in Wilson Borough back on March 11.

Officials say Sutton pointed a handgun at a female cashier, forced her to open the register and then tied her up.

Powell is accused of injuring another female employee.

Police say he hit her over the head with a handgun before tying her up.

Sutton and Powell are now in custody in a New Jersey jail on unrelated charges.

Police say the suspects will be extradited to Pennsylvania.
