Police have identified the man who allegedly punched a female security guard in the face while trying to shoplift from a Sears store.

WYOMISSING, Pa. -

Police have identified the man who allegedly punched a female security guard in the face while trying to shoplift from a Sears store.

A warrant was issued Thursday for the arrest of Robert Brian Emerich, who may be driving a gold Mazda MPV with Pennsylvania license plate HZK-3624, police said.

Emerich left the Sears store at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, Berks Co., on the afternoon of Aug. 15 with a power washer he didn't pay for, police said.

As a security guard attempted to take Emerich's picture with her cell phone, police said he punched the guard in the head with his fist, knocked her to the ground and took the phone, leaving behind the power washer.

Emerich, whose last known address was in the 1700 block of North 3rd Street in Reading, is facing charges of robbery and retail theft, police said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.
