It may soon pay off to hunt coyotes in Pennsylvania.

It may soon pay off to hunt coyotes in Pennsylvania.

The House Game and Fisheries Committee has approved State Representative Mike Peifer's proposal to create a coyote control incentive program.

Peifer represents Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties an area he says is infested with coyotes.

The bill allows the state's game commission to offer an incentive of $25 to licensed hunters and fur-takers for each coyote lawfully hunted.

Peifer says the coyote population is a public safety concern.

The bill will now go to the full House for consideration.
