The Wilson West Lawn and Fleetwood girls are set to meet in the BCIAA championship game on Friday night following semifinal wins Tuesday at Santander Arena. They are the top two seeded teams in the tournament.
The top-seeded Bulldogs escaped with a 55-50 win over fourth-seeded Berks Catholic in the late semifinal. The game was a rematch of last year's county title game.
The Saints were within three in the final minute, but Wilson eventually prevailed to advance to their fourth straight county final. The Bulldogs are searching for a third straight championship.
Ivory Bailey paced the Bulldogs with 19 points. Avery Marz added another 11.
Katrina Balatgek shined for Berks Catholic. She hit seven threes en route to a game-high 23 points. Devon Merritt tallied a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to lift the Saints to victory.
In the early semifinal, second-seeded Fleetwood also won a tight one with third-seeded Oley Valley, 47-40.
Cyre Virgo had a monster game for the Tigers, recording 16 points and 13 boards. Xiomara Toledo pitched in another 13 points for Fleetwood.
Oley's Brandi Vallely also turned in a big-time performance with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Tori Moll poured in another 10 points, but the Lynx couldn't get over the top.
Wilson will play Fleetwood Friday evening in the BCIAA Finals at Santander Arena.
