Rosin leads Fightin Phils over Portland in twin bill split

Behind Seth Rosin, the Fightins defeated Portland, 4-1, on Tuesday night in game 1 of a double-header.


Seth Rosin was dominant in a 4-1 win over Portland on Tuesday night in game 1 of a double-header at FirstEnergy Stadium.

The righty went all seven innings, striking out five Sea Dogs and allowing just three hits improve his record to 4-4 this year.

Jim Murphy knocked in two runs in the fifth when it was a 2-1 game to put things on ice for Reading.


The game was delayed more than an hour due to rain at the start.


The Sea Dogs responded in game 2 with a 3-0 shutout at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Charlie Haeger threw 5.2 shutout innings for Portland, limiting the Fightins to just 4 hits.
