IronPigs surge past Gwinnett, 6-1

The IronPigs powered past the Braves 6-1 in Gwinnett Friday night.

Jim Murphy belted a three-run home run in the fourth inning to open the scoring for the 'Pigs.

Maikel Franco had two hits and two runs scored, while Reid Brignac added a pair of RBIs.


Jonathan Pettibone (2-0, 3.38) struck out five over five strong innings to earn the win.

The win was the second straight for the 'Pigs to open their eight-game road trip.

The IronPigs (13-14) will play game three of their four-game series with the Braves on Saturday at 7:05pm.
