HS RUNDOWN: Parkland, Pen Argyl, Pius X bolster playoff resumes

Parkland, Pen Argyl and Pius X all bolstered their playoff resumes on Saturday thanks to decisive wins. 

Parkland raced out to a 28-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 35-6 over Central Catholic at J. Birney Crum Stadium.

The Trojans improve to 8-1, solidify their position in the District 11 4A playoff race, and stay tied for first place in the LVC with Whitehall.

Pen Argyl, the two-time defending District 11 2A champions, earned a 28-7 win over Palmerton to improve 6-3 on the season.

Pius X went above the .500 mark for the first time this year, beating Carson Long 62-0 to improve to 5-4.

Pen Argyl and Pius X each currently hold the fourth and final spots in their respective District 11 playoff classifications.

Pen Argyl played at the 2A level, while Pius X plays at the A level.
