Free agent guard Jerryd Bayless signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.

Bayless, who played for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Boston Celtics last season, is looking forward to working with new Bucks coach Jason Kidd.

"He can help me in a variety of different ways," Bayless said. "There aren't a lot of guys like him that come around. ... He's a young coach, but he's been in the league a long time."

Bayless averaged 9.3 points in 72 games last season. The 25-year-old has six years of NBA experience with five teams. He was selected No. 11 overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2008 NBA Draft.

"Even though I'm younger, I've been through a lot in this league and I'll try to teach these guys the right way to do things," Bayless said.

Bayless joins a backcourt that includes Brandon Knight, Kendall Marshall, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nate Wolters. Milwaukee finished with an NBA-worst 15-67 record last season.

"They have a great young nucleus and a new direction with coach Kidd," Bayless said. "It's a great opportunity."
