Fightin Phils blanked in series finale with Erie

The SeaWolves salvaged a split in Reading, winning the series finale 2-0 on Thursday night.


The Reading Fightin Phils managed just seven hits in a 2-0 loss to the Erie SeaWolves on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Erie starter Kelvin Perez tossed seven shutouts innings, scattering four hits and striking out four to earn the win.

Reading got the tying run on base in the ninth, but Anthony Hewitt grounded out to end the game.


The Fightins begin a six-game road trip Friday night at Trenton. Alex Rodriguez is expected to play for the Thunder.
