The Wilson West Lawn and Tulpehocken boys basketball teams won their Berks County openers on Tuesday night.
At Reading High, Wilson WL (1-0, 3-0) captured a 59-48 victory over Reading (0-1, 2-3) in both teams' Berks I opener.
Travaun Coad dropped a game-high 28 points for the Bulldogs. Sam Smith and Matt Timochenko each added 9 points for Wilson.
Meme Burdine paced the Red Knights with 14 points. Tyree Gibson added 12 points.
Wilson hosts Muhlenberg on Friday. Reading will welcome Governor Mifflin the same night.
At Tulpehocken, Robert Ekvall poured in a game-high 27 points to lead the Trojans (1-0, 5-1) past Antietam (0-1, 3-1), 56-39, in the Berks III opener for both teams.
Noah Carles pitched in 9 points for Tulpehocken.
Cameron Koller led the way for the Mounts with 13 points.
The Trojans head to Brandywine Heights on Thursday. Antietam will visit Wyomissing on Friday as well.
