The Berks County baseball team fell in the opening round of the Carpenter Cup, 9-8, to Tri-Cape on Tuesday morning at FDR Park in Philadelphia.
Berks came back from a pair of three-run deficits. In the 5th, they tied it at 3 when Eric Hartranft knocked in Josh Kline.
They tied it once again in the 6th inning. Trailing 6-3 entering the frame, Hunter Wysocki knocked in Connor Tom to knot things up.
Berks took its only lead of the game in the 7th when Dan Louviaux scored on an error to give Berks a 7-6 lead.
But Tri-Cape rallied late for a 9-8 win to eliminate Berks County from the Carpenter Cup.
