BC, Wyo and Tulpy boys among Thursday's winners

There was plenty of Berks basketball action Thursday night, with the small school divisions taking center stage.


The Berks Catholic, Wyomissing and Tulpehocken boys basketball teams won league games Thursday night as the county playoff picture begins to take shape.

At Wolf Gymnasium, Berks Catholic (7-0, 14-3) rolled to a 62-36 victory over visiting Fleetwood (4-3, 10-6).

Nana Foulland led all scorers with 20 points for the Saints. Connor Jack added another 14 as BC built a 21-2 lead at one point.


Berks Catholic visits York Catholic Saturday. The Tigers host Conrad Weiser next Tuesday.


On Mount Penn, Wyomissing (7-0, 10-6) held on for 74-64 victory over Antietam (4-3, 10-7) to stay perfect in Berks III.

Chase Hartman had a triple double for the Spartans and Brock Kovach added a game-high 25 points.

Andy Wrobel dropped 18 points to pace the Mounts.

Wyomissing visits Schuylkill Valley on Saturday. Antietam goes to Twin Valley Monday.


In Schaefferstown, Tulpehocken (5-2, 12-4) pulled away for a 46-25 victory over Brandywine Heights (3-4, 4-12) in a Berks III meeting.

Dwayne Bryant and Kevin Berry each scored in double figures for the Trojans, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Bullets were led by Sean Zielger's game-high 16 points.

Tulpy visits Conrad Weiser Saturday. Brandywine hosts Wyomissing on Tuesday.
