LOWER ALSACE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -

The Antietam boys started this basketball season playing well.

However, they've stumbled a bit within Berks play recently and that's allowed some other teams in their division to take control.

Monday night, Antietam could take some of that control back.  The Mounts hosted Wyomissing, who began the night leading the division with just one loss.

The Mounts got out to a fast start, holding a 14-13 lead after the first quarter. But that would not hold for very long.

The Spartans outscored Antietam 40-20 over the second and third quarters combined to pull away for a 71-59 victory.

Wyomissing's Joe Cacchione led all scorers with 20 points. Fellow Spartans Brock Kovach and Spencer Lloyd also scored in double figures with 14 and 12 respectively.

The Mounts were led by a pair of 14-point scorers in Shamar Ross and Andy Wrobel. Michael Branford pitched in 10.

Wyomissing (6-1, 11-5) will host Schuylkill Valley Tuesday night. Antietam (2-5, 10-7) will pay a visit to Governor Mifflin that same night.
