The Twin Valley field hockey team has put together a really nice season within Berks County. The kind of season that usually turns into a championship year, but that's what the Raiders have to still figure out. The regular season is over, and the Raiders are the team with the target on their back in the playoffs. Monday night, they were on the field with Hamburg in the Berks Semifinals hoping to move one win closer to a championship.
Allison Hileman put Hamburg on the board first midway through the second half.
But the Raiders didn't give up. Ashley Hoffman cranked a shot off a corner and tied it five minutes later.
The game remained tied into a second overtime. That's when Natalie Wilkinson deflected Kelee LePage's shot in for the game winner to give Twin Valley a 2-1 victory.
Oley Valley took on Wilson in the other semifinal later in the evening.
Elaine Ristchard tallied the only goal of the game. She finished a precise cross from Rachel Stahl to put the Lynx up 1-0.
The Oley Valley defense would hold the rest of the way for the 1-0 win. Rachel Hartman recorded 13 saves for the Lynx.
Twin Valley will play Oley Valley at a time and date to be determined later this week.
