Ruf ties Howard in R-Phils win over Binghamton

Darin Ruf tied Ryan Howard's single-season franchise home-run record at 37 in a 12-8 Reading win over Binghamton.

There are two things going on right now in Reading at FirstEnergy Stadium to keep fans pouring into the ballpark. One is the R-Phils chase for a playoff spot. Each win gets them closer, and they are only a few wins away now. The other reason is Darin Ruf's chase for the R-Phils' single season home run record.

He has a chance to break it Wednesday.

Ruf hit homer number 37 Tuesday night, sparking a late rally that saw the Phillies down the Binghamton Mets 12-8.

The homer ties Ruf with Ryan Howard for the single season home run record.
