Some rivalries are great because of the head to head meetings that take place. Some rivalries are great because the battle continues all season in the standings to add to the head-to-head matchups. And some rivalries are great because every part of that equation comes together every year or just about. Reading and Wilson West Lawn is a good example. These two old foes met on the basketball court for in their Berks I opener on Tuesday night in Spring Township.
Reading High was in control for most of the night and got a 64-50 win. The Red Knights' Zhykier Burdine led all scorers with 16 points. Jalan Branford added 13 for Reading.
Steven Rodriguez paced the Bulldogs with 14 points.
Reading evens its record at 3-3 while Wilson suffers its first loss of the season and falls to 2-1.
