Phillies counting on Michael Young to solidify lineup, infield

The Phillies picked up Michael Young this off-season, a move that changes Young's role, he's now playing 3rd base every day and enjoying the change.

In acquiring veteran Michael Young in an offseason trade with the Texas Rangers, the Phillies attempted to fill two voids: an everyday third baseman, and a reliable, versatile right-handed bat in the lineup.

Young is a lifetime .301 hitter with seven All-Star game appearances on his resume.

And the Phils hope he'll provide them with more of the same in 2013.  Jim Vaughn has more.
