Daniel Boone boys knock off Wilson WL; Reading wins Berks I title

Daniel Boone knocked off Wilson West Lawn Tuesday night. Reading took advantage by beating Exeter at home and capturing the Berks I title.


The Daniel Boone boys pulled off another shocker Tuesday night with a 42-41 victory at Wilson West Lawn.

The Blazers punched their ticket to the county tournament with the win. The loss cost Wilson the Berks I title and a higher seed in the county tournament.

Kenny Worthington continued to shine for Boone, scoring a game-high 15 points. Pop Lacey added 10 for the Blazers.


Wilson's SteVan Rodriguez, Travaun Coad and Bryan Fegley all scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough for the Bulldogs.

Daniel Boone (5-5, 10-12) finished off the season red-hot with wins over Exeter, Reading and Wilson. They'll be the 6-seed in the county tournament starting Saturday against 3-seed Wyomissing. Wilson's (7-3, 17-4) matchup is listed after the next story.


At Reading, the Red Knights outscored Exeter 19-12 in a decisive fourth quarter to seal a 57-50 victory on Tuesday night.

Reading's Zhykeir Burdine led all scorers with 18 points. Exeter's Justin Trojanowski poured in 17 while teammate Bryan Stinson had 12.

Reading (8-2, 11-11) will be the 2-seed in the county tournament starting Saturday. They'll face 7-seed Oley Valley. Exeter (6-4, 18-4) earns the 5-seed and will face 4-seed Wilson.
