Berks Catholic edges Kutztown; Oley rolls past Blue Mountain

The Berks Catholic and Oley Valley baseball teams picked up wins on Monday as both eye the postseason.

Berks Catholic (5-1, 8-4) knocked off Kutztown (4-2, 7-4) on Monday at the Forino Sports Complex, 2-1.

Nick Perilli scored the go-ahead run in the sixth on a passed ball.

Matt Dekker pitched a gem for the Saints, going six strong innings. Jake Lloyd hammered it down in the seventh to seal the win for Berks Catholic.


B.C. will visit Fleetwood on Wednesday afternoon. Kutztown hosts Oley Valley that same night.


Speaking of the Lynx (6-0, 12-2), they rolled to a 9-0 victory over non-league opponent Blue Mountain on Monday in Oley.

Nick Distasio knocked in a pair of runs for the Lynx. Collin Fesi and Craig Eidle combined for four hits and three RBIs in addition.

Garrett Pelko was lights out on the mound for Oley, fanning eight in the victory.
