The Albright men (5-2, 12-2) have been playing some good basketball this season. In fact, the Lions were on a six game winning streak before this past weekend, a loss ending their string of wins.
Wednesday night, they hoped to start another streak by earning a win
It was a tight game down to the wire, but the Lions were able to edge out a 63-57 win. Dave Singleton tied the game with 1:40 remaining, then knocked down the winning jumper with 45 seconds left. He was 1-12 from the field before burying the tying basket.
Kyle Jordan led the Lions with 13 points. Pedro Perez dropped 12 while Singleton added 10.
The Albright women (3-4, 7-7) had a much easier time with things, cruising to a 73-52 win over Hood.
Kelecia Harris recorded a double-double (15 points, 16 rebounds) to lead the way for the lady Lions.
Emily O'Donnell pitched in 12 points, while Meghan Boyle tallied 11 to compliment Harris.
The Albright men and women will travel to Lebanon Valley for a men's/women's double-header Saturday starting at 2:00.
