HILLTOWN TWP., Pa. -

A 57-year-old man has been charged with multiple crimes for running a flagman onto the hood of his car and for failing to respect orders from an authorized person directing traffic.

James Linquist, of the 800 block of Elephant Rd. in Dublin, was charged with Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Obedience to Authorized Persons Directing Traffic.

Police say on February 26 at about 3:00p.m. PennDOT workers were filling potholes in the roadway at the intersection of Hilltown Pike and Keystone Dr. in Hilltown Twp.

After a PennDOT flagman directed a line of traffic to stop, an impatient driver, who was later identified as James Linquist, pulled out from the rear of the traffic line and passed the stopped traffic.

Police say when the flagman attempted to stop him, Linquist drove into the flagman forcing him onto the hood of his vehicle.

The car stopped after carrying the flagman approximately 30 feet on the hood of the vehicle, according to police.

The flagman was not injured. His identity was not disclosed.
