Deadly carjacking crash in Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA -

A vehicle that had been carjacked plowed into a crowd of people in Philadelphia, killing three children -- ages 7, 10 and 15 -- and injuring three adults, including the children's mother, authorities said.

Two men took the vehicle -- a Toyota 4Runner -- with the driver -- a real estate agent -- forced into the backseat at gunpoint in the 2500 block of North Sixth Street in the Tioga section of north Philadelphia, according to Officer Jillian Russell, a police department spokeswoman.

The fleeing SUV then hit the crowd of people, including a woman and her three children selling fruit on the corner of Germantown and West Allegheny, shortly before 11:30 a.m., killing one of the children -- a 10-year-old boy -- at the scene, police said.

The two other children -- ages 7 and 15 -- were rushed to area hospitals, where they both died of their injuries, police said.

Three other people, including the children's mother and the carjacked woman, were taken to area hospitals, said police, who reported that the mother is in "extremely critical" condition.

Both carjackers fled the scene on foot, said police

At around 8 p.m., police added $10,000 to the offered reward, making it a $110,000 reward for information that leads to their arrest and conviction by noon on Saturday.
