PERKASIE, Pa. -

An employee of a bank in Bucks County stands accused of stealing more than $350,000 from the accounts of several elderly customers.

Joseph Guy Policare Jr., of the 1000 block of Brookfield Circle, Quakertown, was charged with identity theft, forgery, theft by unlawful taking and related offenses, according to a criminal complaint.

Policare, as an employee of First Savings Bank branch in Dublin, accessed the accounts of at least six customers, forged their signatures to withdraw money and deposited that money in his personal accounts, police said.

In at least 59 transactions between January 2009 and November 2013, Policare had taken in excess of $354,000 from these customers' accounts, usually a certificate of deposit (CD) account, police said.

When asked about taking funds from several accounts, Policare told police he was living beyond his means.

Policare was committed to the Bucks County Prison on $750,000 bail.
