Police: Motorcyclist killed by drunk driver

The driver of a pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI after causing a deadly accident Wednesday night, police said.

UPPER HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

The driver of a pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI after causing a deadly accident Wednesday night, police said.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. at 3030 Kutztown Road in Upper Hanover Twp., Montgomery Co.

The crash occurred as the pickup truck abruptly turned left in front of an oncoming motorcycle, causing the cycle to hit the truck.

The cycle operator, Barry D. Good, 57, of Longswamp Twp., Berks Co., was rushed to a hospital, but officials said he died a short time later, police said. He was wearing a helmet.

The truck driver, Francis David Lynch, showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, said police, who noted that charges are pending.

Lynch, 40, of Hereford Twp., Berks Co, was not injured, nor was his passenger.
