Police and the FBI are hoping to put an end to a spree of bank robberies believed to be committed by the same man.

The rash of robberies began Feb. 2 at a Citizens Bank on East City Line Avenue in Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery Co., officials said.

The same man, authorities said, then robbed or attempted to rob at least four other banks, including a TD Bank on West Lancaster Avenue in Haverford, Delaware Co., on Feb. 12; a Sovereign Bank on Belmont Avenue in Bala Cynwyd on Feb. 14; and a TD Bank on Ridge Avenue in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia on Feb. 17.

Officials said they believe the same man also tried to rob the TD Bank in Roxborough on Feb. 14.

The robber is described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s who stands about 5 feet, 9 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall and has a medium build and a medium to dark complexion. He also wore a goatee and glasses during the holdups.

Anyone with information about the robberies or the man responsible is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department.
