A former middle school vice principal accused of sending lewd text messages to former students, 13-year-old boys, may get his sentence reduced.

The state Superior Court has granted a new sentencing hearing for Charles Hurst, a former vice principal of Pennbrook Middle School in Montgomery County.

He admitted to corruption of minors and cocaine possession and was sentenced to 30-60 months in prison in May of 2011.

Superior Court says the lower court was wrong to rule Hurst ineligible for an early release program which could get him out of prison as early as this month.

A new sentencing date has not been set.
