Mom-in-the-box: Soldier mom surprises son at school

He thought his mom was off serving our country and wouldn't be home for weeks.
But what one little Perkasie boy didn't know was he was about to get an early Christmas surprise.
What started out as a lesson in honoring our nation's veterans at Deibler Elementary School in Perkasie, Bucks County, quickly turned into quite a surprise for third grader Tyler Scott.
His mother, Anne Scott, has been deployed in Kuwait for the last nine months.
His father is also in the Army, but has been taking care of him.
Tyler was asked to come up on stage and help his father open a huge box.
"I was just really surprised," said Tyler after his mother jumped out of the box.
Tyler's classmates were also surprised by the Mom in the box.
"This is possibly the best day of the year," said Tyler.
But, like Tyler they anticipated her homecoming and wrote her a book of letters
But perhaps the sweetest letter came last.
"I hope you get back early. Love, your son Tyler."
"Letting them see that one of their classmates is someone whose mom is not home with him everyday so that they can protect our country was probably the best lesson that they could get from this," said Principal Deb Brady.
Tyler says he's looking forward to doing lots of fun things with his family over the holidays.
Being the new kid at school, he says he was also glad to share his surprise homecoming with his new friends.
