PHILADELPHIA -

The judge overseeing a sex abuse trial involving a high-ranking official in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has sent the jury back to deliberate further after the panel said it was hung on four of the five charges.

Judge M. Teresa Sarmina ordered the jurors back to deliberations Wednesday after they said they couldn't agree on four charges, although it wasn't clear which ones.

Prosecutors said Monsignor William Lynn conspired to endanger children by taking part in an alleged coverup. Lynn served as secretary for clergy at the Philadelphia archdiocese from 1992 to 2004. He's charged with three counts.
