UPPER MORELAND TWP., Pa. -

The stabbing death of a Montgomery County man has led to murder charges being filed against his paramour.

Myron McClinton died Tuesday night at Abington Hospital, officials said. His paramour, Candice Phillips, was charged Wednesday afternoon with murder.

Phillips stabbed McClinton, 54, Tuesday morning inside the couple's apartment in the 2500 block of Horsham Road in Upper Moreland Township, officials said.

According to authorities, McClinton called 911 and told an emergency dispatcher, "I've been lacerated. I've been, I've been cut twice by a knife from, uh, by Candice Phillips. I'm bleeding real bad."

Officers arrived on the scene to find Phillips at the entrance to the apartment with what appeared to be a blood smear on her face, police said.

"He's upstairs. I did it. I did it," she told police, they said.

Officers found McClinton lying in a pool of blood in the master bedroom, police said. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, but his life couldn't be saved, officials said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Detectives processing the crime scene found a bloody knife between the bed mattress and box spring in the master bedroom, said officials, who have not provided a motive for the killing.
