Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski is calling off his gubernatorial campaign Monday.
Sources say Pawlowski will endorse Pennsylvania State Treasurer Rob McCord from Montgomery County.
Friday the Mayor gave his state of the city address in front of the Allentown Rotary Club.
Pawlowski said he will be announcing a number of new initiatives this year including a community policing program and a new organic food program with Rodale.
Pawlowski said he will also introduce programs to tackle blight.
He said the future of the city looks bright.
"The state of the city this year is really one of resurgence. We are coming back strong and we're gonna be a city that people can be proud to call home," he said.
Pawlowski announced his candidacy for governor in September.
He and McCord are expected to make a tandem announcement in Allentown Monday at 11 a.m.
