Soldier dad surprises son at Reading America Little League

One little league baseball player received the surprise of a lifetime Wednesday night.
Right on the baseball diamond, just before the first pitch, the youngster's father made an unexpected visit from Afghanistan.
It was already a big day for 12-year-old second baseman Corey Jenkins. He was trying to help his team, Reading America Little League, win the district championship.
While Corey warmed up, he had no clue his father was hiding in an SUV just a few feet away from Jefferson Park in Jefferson Township.
Corey thought his father was still in Afghanistan, bravely putting his life on the line for his country, but just before the game started, Corey spotted his father walking onto the field.
Corey then ran to his father, U.S. Army Staff Sgt. William Jenkins.
While the public, some in tears, applauded and cheered, father and son embraced in a tight hug on the pitcher's mound.
"Just to see him play in one of his last all-star games. It's an amazing feeling," Sgt. Williams said.
"Awesome," Corey said.
But there was still a championship hanging in the balance, and for Corey, his father's visit gave him all the motivation he needed.
"We might win the championship," Corey said.
It turns out, Corey's team did win the game, beating Exeter 5 to 4 in a game that lasted more than two hours in the stifling heat.
On Independence Day, Corey's team will play against Exeter one last time. If Corey's team wins, it will be the district champion.
