Heroin was found inside a minivan that plowed into a West Easton home during a police pursuit early Saturday morning.
The pursuit started around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at 15th and Washington streets in Easton. Police said they originally stopped the Plymouth Voyager for driving with no headlights on. The car sped off and led police on a pursuit. The minivan crashed into a parked car at one point before the plowing into the home in West Easton, according to police.
The suspect jumped out of the car, climbed over a fence and ran away. Police said no arrests have been made no suspects identified.
The minivan plowed into Paul James' home on Iron Street, abruptly awakening James and neighbors.
"A loud crash, sounded like an earthquake," James said.
Tire tracks end at Paul James' basement wall, after the minivan went through a fence and into his basement.
"First thing I did when I opened this door, I noticed the parking light was sticking out over here….I look and I can see the front of this van sticking out…The motor was shut off but you could hear the fan motor running. It started to kick in, that this isn't right, and I'm still trying to wake up," James said.
When James looked outside, police cars were scattered throughout his property. Neighbors recalled seeing a K9 Unit on scene.
Police said 34 packets of heroin were found inside the vehicle.
