Sean Favors charged for October home invasion
Twenty-four-year-old Sean Favors of Philadelphia has been charged for a violent home invasion robbery of a couple residing in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County.
Favors was one of three men involved in the crime, according to law enforcement officials.
At about 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2013, Whitepain Township police responded to a report of a home invasion robbery in progress in the 600 block of Wyndrise Drive.
The homeowners own a business in Philadelphia and were followed home by the assailants.
The 77-year-old husband was violently beat with a hammer by one of the suspects who attacked him from behind, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.
The other two men directed the man's wife to get them money from the master bedroom. The three fled with money when the panic alarm was activated.
County detectives and township police have been working with the U.S. Marshals Service to find Favors. The federal marshals located and apprehended him at an address in northwest Philadelphia.
Favors was arraigned Friday before Magisterial District Justice Robert Sobeck.
He is in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
Bail was set at $250,000.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 11 a.m. April 21 before Sobeck at 653 Skippack Pike in Blue Bell.
The other two suspects are not yet in custody, said First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele, who added the investigation is ongoing.
