The Berks Catholic football team knew it had something special this year. So far, the Saints have accomplished many special things. But they are two wins away from the ultimate prize. As the reward gets bigger, so does the opponent.

Berks Catholic will meet Philadelphia power Imhotep Charter on Saturday afternoon at Governor Mifflin in the state 2A semifinals. This will, by far, be the stiffest challenge that B.C. has faced all season. Imhotep is a team that possesses great size and speed.

But the Saints are relishing the challenge and are eager to earn a trip to Hershey and show that they belong among the state's elite teams. The Saints respect every team they play, but fear no one.

B.C. has been criticized this year for not being truly tested. Whether or not you agree with that, you cannot argue with this this: Berks Catholic is 14-0 and has won a Berks II and District III championship. They are the only team in the county left playing.

In fact, they are one of a few in our entire Big Ticket coverage area still alive.

And with one more victory, Berks Catholic is headed to the sweetest place on Earth for the sweetest prize in high school football.
